This work honors a lineage both vast and intimate—from the priestesses of early Egypt, Anatolia, Arabia, and Mesopotamia, to the holy women of later Judaism, Islam, and the Christian East. Their voices, long forgotten or muted, now weave seamlessly into one unbroken song.
